TD-3-MO PATTERNS
The TD-3-MO (Modded Out) adds the Devil Fish-style controls — but its sequencer is the TD-3's sequencer, and it speaks the same pattern SysEx over USB. TD3 Studio treats it as a TD-3: the OUTPUT lamp reads TD-3, WRITE stores a pattern in any of the 64 slots, BACKUP fetches them all into a folder.
What is the same
- Patterns from any MIDI file, with the timeline window to pick the bars.
- Step recording from the on-screen keys or a MIDI keyboard.
- Accent, slide, tie and rest with one modifier key — Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Ctrl+Alt — on the plate and while playing.
- PATTERN GROUP I–IV, pattern keys 1–8, BANK A/B: the slot on the device.
What is different
The MO's extra knobs (overdrive, filter tracking, the sub-oscillator, the slide time, the accent sweep) are not in the pattern data, so they stay on the device — as they should. The built-in simulator is a plain 303 voice; use it to audition the notes, then hear the real thing on the MO.
Backing up the MO
Press BACKUP and choose a folder: all 64 patterns are fetched as .syx files, named by slot. They show up in the library, where a click plays them and a second click opens them. Restore any of them with WRITE.
Three ways in, one set of keys. Drop a MIDI file and the sixteen steps are cut for you — or start from an empty plate. Or play the pattern in yourself, 303-style, from the on-screen keys or your own MIDI keyboard. Either way, an accent or a slide is one modifier away — hold Shift or Ctrl (⌘ on a Mac) while you play a key or click a step, and the same combination sets a tie or a rest. Fix any note later by scrolling over its cell.
