SYNTHTRIBE .SEQ FILES

Behringer's SynthTribe app saves TD-3 patterns as .seq (and .sqs) files. They are useful for moving patterns between devices, but SynthTribe gives you no way to see or change the notes. TD3 Studio reads them directly.

Open

Point the library at the folder that holds your SynthTribe files (Folder…). Every .seq / .sqs shows up next to your .syx and .mid files, with a thumbnail of its notes. Click to hear it, click again to put it on the plate.

Convert

Convert .seq in the library turns every SynthTribe file in the folder into a .syx file next to it — the format the TD-3 itself speaks, and the one TD3 Studio saves. Nothing is deleted.

Edit and write

Three ways in, one set of keys. Drop a MIDI file and the sixteen steps are cut for you — or start from an empty plate. Or play the pattern in yourself, 303-style, from the on-screen keys or your own MIDI keyboard. Either way, an accent or a slide is one modifier away — hold Shift or Ctrl (⌘ on a Mac) while you play a key or click a step, and the same combination sets a tie or a rest. Fix any note later by scrolling over its cell.

Then WRITE it to a slot on the TD-3, or SAVE it as your own .syx. No SynthTribe needed any more — though it remains the tool for firmware updates and the device's global settings.
