INSTALLING RD6 STUDIO
The download from your delivery mail is RD6Studio-Setup-<version>.exe on Windows or RD6Studio-<version>.dmg on a Mac. It installs per user — no administrator account needed — and updates itself from inside the app. Mac steps are below.
1. Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded file. Windows SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC” — that is Windows being careful with any new, unsigned program, not a judgment of this one. Click More info, then Run anyway.
2. Follow the wizard
Pick a language, click through, done — RD6 Studio starts by itself. You will find it in the Start menu afterwards; a desktop icon is optional in the wizard.
3. Connect the RD-6
Plug the RD-6 in over USB and switch it on. In the app, set OUTPUT to RHYTHM DESIGNER RD-6 to play through the machine, or leave it on the simulator. READ and WRITE light up as soon as the device is seen; press RESCAN if you plugged in late.
On a Mac
Open the .dmg and drag RD6 Studio into Applications. The app is not signed with an Apple certificate yet, so Gatekeeper objects the first time: right-click the app and choose Open, or go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. That is needed once; afterwards it opens normally. On a Mac the undo key is ⌘Z.
Updates
The app checks once a day. When a new version is out, an UPDATE key lights up in the header — one click fetches and installs it (on a Mac it opens the new disk image for you to drag over the old app).
Stuck?
Open the HELP drawer in the app and use SOMETHING IS WRONG — it lands straight with the maker — or mail td3-studio@50hz-services.nl.
